Dawn McInnish, project director for Winston County Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (ASAP), recently spoke to Haleyville Rotarians at their weekly meeting at Banks BBQ. The program is funded through a federal grant and is part of the Alabama Unified Prevention System. ASAP works with youth age 12-17 in the Winston County and Haleyville City school systems, using the Too Good for Drugs curriculum. The curriculum teaches life skills such as goal-setting, life management and making good decisions as a foundation for a life free of substance abuse.
